Have You Heard Of Underwater Fishing Light

Looks like fishing is not going to be the same again with this underwater fishing light that could attract more fishes and other forms of aquatic life than you could imagine possible? Have you heard of the green underwater fishing light or have you come across this type of light before or actually utilize it during your fishing trip?

Well perhaps you have not even heard of it yet. This underwater fishing light would give you a huge advantage over others in attracting more fishes and obviously your catch at night. Read on to find out more…

Use of Underwater Fishing Light to Attract Fish

Lights attract fishes whether it’s used in freshwater or saltwater. However, this underwater fishing light is just a little different. This light is weigh down and is sunk to the bottom and when the sun goes down, the light is turned on and that’s when it goes to work.

The light attracts zooplankton which begins to home in on the lght when its turned on. Small fishes will soon follow suit because zooplanktons is what they feed on. Soon the bigger fish follow and I guess I don’t have to spell out what happens after that.

The entire food chain gathers around this green underwater fishing light and the fishes are there for your picking. And this underwater fishing light that I came across actually have a guarantee that it will attract fishes or your money back.

The green underwater fishing light have been purchased by thousands over the years and the feedback has always been the same, it has work without fail to attract fishes at night.

Check it out and take it for a test ride yourself and I believe you can catch lots of fish with this underwater fishing light. The details on how this underwater fishing light works can be found on the link below. Tight Lines!

Freshwater Fishing in Thailand – Fishing At BungSamran Fishing Park.

Looking to do some freshwater fishing in Thailand (The Land of Smiles) while on vacation in Bangkok? Thailand offers some of the best freshwater sport fishing in Asia with many ponds stocked with big fishes and one of the best known is probably BungSamran Fishing Park.

It’s not that difficult to find BungSamran Fishing Park and you can easily get there by taxi. It’s located at the end of Nawamin Soi 42, Bangkapi, Bangkok.

BungSamran Fishing Park has been around since 1983 and my first trip to this fishing park was way back in 1995. The pond is well stocked with many species of freshwater fishes, both carnivorous and herbivorous.

Some of the prized catch at the pond are Arapaima and Giant Siamese Carp. The Striped Catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) and the Giant Mekong Catfish (Pangasianadon gigas) are common catches.

For your info, the Giant Mekong Catfish is probably the hardest fighting freshwater fish on earth and catches above 100kg have been recorded there.

BungSamran Fishing Park is a good place to put all your tackles to test with the Giant Mekong Catfish. Bring all them along with you if that’s your intention. Believe me, your tackle will undergo a real test when fighting them. Also, please ensure your tackle is between 30lbs to 50lbs. Light tackle will only tire you and the fish out and probably kill the fish at the end of the fight.

Information of BungSamran Fishing Park can be found at their website. For those who are not into bringing your own tackle or happen to have the itch to fish while in Bangkok, they have tackles for rental too. Check their site for more information.

For first timer, suggest that you hire a guide when fishing at Bungsamran Fishing Park to show you some of the tricks when fishing there. Guides can be hired at the fishing park when you get there. Although the place is well stocked with lots of fishes, there are some angler who have gone home empty handed. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed and you can learn from the guides and they even have money back guarantee if you don’t catch a single fish.

The bait mix for herbivorous fishes comes in different variety and mixes and some guide swear by their secret recipe telling you that’s their mix is what the fishes there like best. Everyone one has their own favorite mixture and so it’s up to you to believe or not to believe what they tell you or take it with a pinch of salt.

Well if you decide to go some freshwater fishing at Bungsamran fishing park while you are in Bangkok, good luck and tight lines!

Safety To Be Observed During Fishing Trips

A fishing trip can be a fun and relaxing way to spend a lazy day and good for family and friends bonding too but I must emphasized that safety to be observed during fishing trips shouldn’t be an oversight or taken for granted otherwise it could turn a fun day into a bad day.

Remember, it can be an exciting adventure for a young child going fishing with parents or grandparents too but you don’t want to spoil it because of some mishap. For me, when out fishing, safety is always number 1. If some mishap is to befall on you or fishing partners, it could really spoil a trip especially in cases where you have no choice but to turn your boat back and head for shore.

There are far and plenty of points to observed for safety on fishing trips so I will try not to bore you and list the essentials although I doubt I will be able to cover everything here.
If you are planning on going on a fishing trip especially with young children, there are some situations that you must be prepared to face.

1. Bring along or pack a first aid kit in your tackle box. Because fishing uses many sharp tools, you should be prepared to treat injuries such as cuts and open bleeding wounds with disinfectants, medicated lotion and bandages.

2. Before going on a fishing trip, you should always check out the weather forecast regardless if you are planning for fishing off shore or fishing from shore. Those out on boats should pay special attention to storm movements. Many storms are a lot closer than what you think and can easily outrun your boat. Be prepared to run for sheltered waters or land upon the first sign of darkening skies and distant lightning strike.

3. Hooks. Some people has the bad habit of leaving their hooks on the seats of boats or other “convenient” places within their easy reach in case there’s a need to change set-ups to because they are targetting a different species of fish that calls for a change or perhaps going from bottom fishing to drift fishing.
I urge you to practise the good habit of putting your set-ups aside in a safe place away from others. Those who are unaware could end up sitting on some hooks or getting hooks embedded in them. That could be a very painful and bad experience for some caught in that kind of situation depending on the size of hook and how far it has been embedded in you.

Always, always keep a look out for others who may standing or doing something behind you befor your big cast. It’s certainly no fun hooking a fellow angler in areas that you cannot imagine possible.
Make it a habit to look behind and to the sides before you cast, you never know who or what may be in the path of your cast. If you fishing with young children or beginners, drill this into their head so much so that it becomes second nature

4. Knives, gaffs and other dangerous equipments. Make sure your knife is sheathed after use and gaffs are out of the way and only present when there’s a need to use them although

5. Line tangling. Not a dangerous situation unless you make it as such. Tangles are commonn where your line maybe caught in a tree or some underwater structure. These situations must be approached with caution for you can turn it into a major disaster if the wrong approach is taken.

If you are using a fishing rod. It’s not some cheapskate stuff but an engineered piece of equipment that can really take a lot of stress. Don’t attempt to use your rod to fight that tangle because that could end up real bad.
A good approach would be to give enough slack in your line and access the situation and not simply try to yank your tangled line in the hope of clearing it. Some tangles can be bad or there are instances where your tangles do come free and your whole setup comes back at you at a very fast speed line, hook and sinker. That could pierce a hole and cause some serious injury in some unsuspecting person who happens to be in the “line of fire”.

It’s better of snapping of the branch of the tree or try going as close to the source of tangle and cutting your line of at that point. Forget about the $8 lure (try making your own lures instead, it’s much cheaper and really rewarding when you are able to catch fishes with lures that you have made with your own hands, sorry that I went off topic for awhile) or whatever setup that is at the end of the line. The consequences and potential injury that can happen to you is not worth it!

Same goes for underwater structures and remember, never use your bare hands to try and tug it off the line. Serious injury and deep cuts can happen to your hands if you are not careful. Make use of a glove or rag if you have to and never wind the lines in your hand in a attempt to have a better grip on the line. The line can do some serious damage to your hand if it doesn’t give way and bites into your hand.

Well, these are the essentials on safety to be observed during fishing trips. I’m sure you have others as you go on more fishing trips to different areas and face different situations. Experience counts and make a note of those situations mentally so that you are prepared for your next trip and possibly share with others about safety to be during on fishing trips.

Fishing Tips to Share with Everyone

I have some fishing tips to share with everyone here. Beginners or experienced fishermen alike can always do with tips from time to time. No matter what age we are, we are still learning everyday. I would like to share a quote that I read somewhere and believe it may have originated from John Dewar, Scottish chemist and physicist, said “Minds are like parachutes – they work best when open”.

If we choose to close are mind and not listen to others and at the same time don’t share what we learned, we are not only being selfish but also confining ourselves to our own world and not adapting to the ever changing world. I believe in learning and sharing and only by sharing what we learn can we learn more return as we learn from others.

Of course I am not asking you to believe every single word and tip out there. Take some of them with a pinch of salt. Not all fishermen would like to broadcast to the world that they have some fishing tips to share with everyone. It’s because some believe that they should keep their secrets all to themselves so that they can continue their good catch and not deplete the stock of fish out there due to overfishing. It’s human nature.
Some may actually provide you with false tips to throw you off-guard and send you off on a wild goose chase.

Back to the main topic on fishing tips to share with everyone. Don’t keep to yourself, open up, talk to others and learn from them. Most people prefer to have an attentive audience, preferring others to listen to them. Be patient and a good listener, ask the right questions and you will be rewarded with some tips from experienced fishermen who have spend more time out there. The tips learned could greatly increase your catch and in due time, you will also be sharing with others, tips on how to catch lots of fish.

Useful tips aside, when it comes to fishing, it’s 90% luck and 10% skill. The lucky ones get 90% of the bites, they may not have the skills in fighting the fish and landing it but because of the huge numeric advantage they have with their luck, chances are they are going to land more fish than others. Face the facts, life is unfair and once you can grasp and accept that and move on with life, things will be much smoother for you.

When going on fishing trip with others, whether it’s offshore, freshwater, saltwater, lake, river, stream and commercial fishing ponds (fishing ponds that releases fish into a pond/lake and you did to pay to fish), take a look at other regular fishermen tackle boxes and make a note of the fishing gears that they use and the other essentials that they bring along. Compare them to what you have in your tackle box. I know most fishermen would like to be over-prepared rather than under-prepared for their trip but is it worth the hassle of lugging along the extra gears, adding up to a heavier load and likely to end up with lesser space if you are fishing from the deck of a boat. Sometimes less is more…

It looks like fishing tips to share with everyone is ending up to be a more psychological article instead of fishing tips but I can’t help it as I’m writing this. So I will stop here and continue with another article.
